The escalation of the Ukraine conflict has seen casualties and injuries rising with people forced to flee. Currently, 18 million Ukrainians need urgent humanitarian assistance and over 870’000 have already fled to neighbouring countries including Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. These numbers are expected to rise dramatically in the coming days and weeks. These events are having a devastating impact on national health systems, particularly inside Ukraine, where the situation is severely reducing overall access to basic health care. The capacity of medical teams to cope with the wounded and others in urgent need is seriously under threat.
Your support is urgently needed to help strengthen health services, both for the wounded and those requiring access to basic health care services - including people already seriously ill with COVID-19, cancer, HIV, tuberculosis, mental health issues, and other serious health conditions. The Ukrainian population requires immediate and vital health support.
The Emergency Appeal - powered by WHO Foundation - raises funds for WHO’s frontline response to deliver life-saving medicines and supplies. Your contribution will go directly to deliver urgent healthcare to people across Ukraine and refugees in neighboring countries affected by this crisis. WHO is working to ensure that the Ukrainian population has access to essential care for all health issues, including other pathologies preexisting the conflict: COVID-19 to cancer, HIV and tuberculosis, maternal care to mental health issues, especially for migrants, older people and refugees.
Your donation will help save lives, prevent the essential healthcare system from collapsing and support health services throughout Ukraine and neighbouring countries.
KBF CANADA and the WHO Foundation are partners in support of World Health Organization in Canada.
