G605 - Lundin Cancer Fund

by Myriad Canada Foundation

The Lundin Cancer Fund was created in honour of Mr. Lukas Lundin who died from glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in 2022.
Lukas Lundin was head of the Lundin Group of Companies, a leading force in the mining and oil and gas industries. Entrepreneurial, and always adventurous, he was passionate about the resource industry and its power to transform lives.
During the course of his illness, it was recognized that there was a considerable lack of awareness and treatment of various types of cancers, particularly brain cancers, as well as a lack of funding of clinical trials and new innovative research. He and his family wanted to change that.
The goal is to finance the very best in Cancer research and treatment globally. The Fund is committed to make high impact, results-oriented investments in cancer research.
To encourage international collaboration and sharing of scientific data.
