New Mexico Fire Response

by WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN INCORPORATED

World Central Kitchen has been supporting families impacted by wildfires and flooding New Mexico and the Mescalero Apache Reservation for over a week. Working alongside local food truck and restaurant partners, we have served more than 16,200 meals in the region.

Evacuations have now been lifted for Ruidoso and surrounding towns, and many people are returning to see if their homes withstood the fires. Two of the shelters that WCK was providing meals for have closed, and the Red Cross has instead opened a temporary camp to provide housing and meals to people whose homes are damaged. WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or emergency kitchens, WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

WCK has provided more than 350 million fresh, nourishing meals for communities around the world. Your donation today will be used to support our emergency food relief efforts.
